Late this week, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power got right down to business and began accepting applications for the demonstration program portion of its new feed-in tariff. (See our earlier blog post about City’s leaders’ recent approval of the program.) Through June 29, the utility will accept competitive bids for projects as small as 30 kW and as large as 999 kW, plans select a total of 10 MW of projects and will use the bid information to determine a standard price for future solicitations. (See the LADWP website for more program details.) LADWP has included some valuable project viability criteria that are likely to help real projects get built, including a development deposit of $50 per kW.
Let the bidding begin, allowing Angelenos to start making use of all those acres of sunny LA rooftops!
