Lavannya Pulluveetil Barrera serves as the Access and Equity Program Manager at Vote Solar. In her role, she leads the organization’s partnership efforts focusing her attention on ensuring equitable partnerships with groups representing environmental justice and low-income communities. She also leads the planning and execution of community workshops meant to offer information about our current energy system and ways to get involved in creating a just energy system.
Prior to joining Vote Solar, Lavannya was a Tom Graff Diversity Fellow with the Environmental Defense Fund based in Chicago where she supported the equitable implementation of clean energy legislation and the design of energy efficiency programs for low-income and hard to reach customers. Lavannya believes that the most transformative solutions to our climate crisis will come from those most impacted and marginalized and makes every effort to center those voices in her work.
