Natalia Cardona Sanchez
Natalia Cardona Sanchez is the Chief Access & Equity Officer at Vote Solar. In her work for the organization she identifies and develops clean energy policy recommendations and partnerships that advance a 100% clean energy future accessible to all and integrates an access and equity lens in Vote Solar’s work around the country.
Natalia, is a social justice activist and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) practitioner with over twenty years of service in the non-profit sector. Her experience spans issues of climate justice, economic justice, racial justice, women’s rights and peace-building. Most recently, she served as the Associate Director for Justice and Equity at 350.org in the United States. In addition, she has held several posts with international and national organizations including the American Friends Service Committee, the Center for Women’s Global Leadership at Rutgers University, Social Watch and the Association for Women’s Rights in Development—a global feminist network. Natalia has decades of experience helping organizations center equity, diversity and inclusion.
She is a graduate of the New School, New York, where she obtained a Msc in International Affairs with a specialization in Poverty & Inequality. Natalia is originally from Guatemala and was forced to emigrate to Canada, with her family, at the age of 11 due to a civil war in home country, an experience that has marked her activism and work in movements for social justice.
