United Methodist Women Workshops
In 2019, UMW graciously invited us to collaborate in planning their Just Energy For All trainings in Tennessee and Illinois.
Vote Solar appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the overall agenda of the Just Energy For All trainings and grow our connections to faith communities across the U.S. It has truly been an honor to witness individuals connecting their beliefs to energy issues. Faith communities are full of passionate people looking to make a difference, and understanding their commitment to service has only made us better advocates.
In December 2019 we had the chance to work with Green for All and We Own It as part of the planning team for the Illinois training. Our Access & Equity team joined 70 incredible United Methodist Women leaders from across the country who wanted to learn how they could advance a just energy future in their communities. Our team was on hand leading presentations on energy policy and communication strategies to maximize impact.
We also worked with members through the development of community action plans with specific UMW regions. These action plans work to bridge the gap between knowledge and its application, helping these leaders hit the ground running once back in their communities.
We continue to collaborate with United Methodist Women nationally and locally on trainings and welcome the opportunity to connect with additional faith based organizations committed to advancing energy justice.
Our Access & Equity team spent the weekend with 70 (!!) incredible @UMWomen leaders from across the country at a #solarequity workshop. It’s such a privilege to be able to work in partnership in the name of a just transition to 100% clean energy! pic.twitter.com/kdhwcFx6rS
