We’re focused on state-level solutions to the climate crisis
Following last week’s election, one thing is clear: Vote Solar’s work to drive state-level solutions to our climate crisis is more important than ever.
Throughout his campaign, President-elect Trump declared his intentions to bolster the fossil fuel industry at the cost of our economy, environment, health, and future. He has repeatedly threatened to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which we know is benefiting communities across the country through job growth and economic investment in clean energy.
In the face of such uncertainty, it’s critical that we hold state leaders accountable to stay on course toward a clean energy transition.
The history of clean energy policy in the United States is replete with examples of progress stymied by political transitions. Through it all, we’ve learned that the most important levers to drive solar solutions are at the state-level.
Thanks to solar advocates like you, Vote Solar has a winning track record in both red and blue states that we will continue to build on. We can and will continue to make real progress by advocating for clean energy reform in front of state legislatures and public utility commissions across the country.
And we’re not just focused on solar solutions, but on solar solutions that are accessible to all — solutions that transform our broken energy system to stop leaving some communities behind. Frontline communities, especially Black, Indigenous, and communities of color, bear the brunt of the harmful fossil fuel industry, and we’ll be doubling down on our efforts to advance clean energy policies that bring everyone along.
By working locally, we can continue to drive forward the transition to a clean energy future and demonstrate to folks the tangible benefits of that future, creating jobs, boosting economic resilience, and ensuring access to affordable, clean power for all communities.
The road ahead will not be easy, but together, we can keep up the momentum for a more sustainable and equitable clean energy future.
