Charlene Turner

Director of Operations

Charlene Turner is Director of Operations at Vote Solar. In her role she develops operational systems and policies, manages financial administration and compliance, and oversees workplace technologies. She is excited about the potential to improve our planet through strategic and collaborative action, and is inspired by Vote Solar’s vision of a resilient world powered by the sun.

Prior to Vote Solar, Charlene was Managing Director for The Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education where she led administration and managed various aspects of programming for adult learners. She is passionate about community service and entrepreneurship, and provides guidance to educational nonprofit leaders through her work with DevoCenter for Service-Learning.

Charlene earned the designation Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) and is a long-time member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Charlene now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina where she enjoys creative activities and fun outdoors with family and friends.
