Powering Progress

Policy Priorities

Our Board member Rob Wallace with New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy at the signing of landmark clean energy legislation Vote Solar helped to pass

Vote Solar advocates for the state-level policies needed to help build a strong, just, and inclusive 100% clean-powered future.

Our team advances clean energy progress in state legislative and regulatory arenas, where most decisions about electricity are made. Since 2002, we have brought our winning combination of deep policy and technical expertise, coalition building, and public engagement to drive meaningful progress.

Together with partners in local communities, we’re expanding solar access, lowering solar costs, and building political power for a just and inclusive clean energy system. We center our work on five programmatic priorities.
