Let’s Build a Stronger Solar Movement Together
America’s two million solar customers are a mighty and growing clean energy constituency, and we want to help them flex that power. That’s why we’re excited to announce that Solar United Neighbors and Vote Solar are launching a new partnership to mobilize solar customers as a greater political force nationwide, starting with our “I ❤️ My Solar” postcard campaign that gives solar customers a fun and easy way to send a personalized message to their state and federal elected officials and become part of the nation’s clean energy movement.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. So we want lawmakers to see — and hold in their hands — thousands of photos that show why solar power is important to their constituents. Solar customers, companies and advocates can learn more and send their own free postcards at ILoveMy.Solar.
America has hit a huge milestone: We’re #2MillionSolarStrong with over two million solar installations powering homes and businesses across the country. That’s powerful!
This is a mighty movement of people who are speeding our nation’s transition to healthy, reliable, competitive clean energy one rooftop at a time. But too often the voices of America’s solar supporters are drowned out by powerful fossil lobbyists and corporate interests when it comes time to defend and champion the clean energy policies that impact all of us. Together with Solar United Neighbors, we want to change that, starting by giving solar customers an easy way to speak up for solar and be part of stronger clean energy movement across all 50 states.
That’s why we launched the I ❤️ My Solar postcard campaign — check it out!
I ❤️ MY ☀️ »
It’s easy to use and 100% free. Solar customers can upload an image of them and their solar system with a brief message of what solar means to them, and we’ll print and mail physical postcards to their state and federal elected officials. Action-takers then have the opportunity to engage in ongoing grassroots advocacy and movement-building activities with Vote Solar and Solar United Neighbors. Together we have decades of combined experience advancing solar policy across the country, and we are excited to help supercharge that work with a mightier solar constituency.

“The I ❤️ my solar campaign is an exciting way to give solar customers a voice in important policy debates in the state and federal government,” said Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association. “Solar customers, who encompass a broad range of Americans, can bolster campaigns such as the extension of the solar investment tax credit, and state policies that promote greater use of solar energy. The two million solar customers in this country are growing quickly and we want to make sure policymakers in all parts of the country are hearing them loud and clear.”
“There are nearly two million households and businesses nationwide that have gone solar. These are Republicans and Democrats, rural and urban families, and many others who are united in wanting to use homegrown sunshine to lower their energy bills and build a better world for their children and grandchildren,” said Anya Schoolman, Executive Director of Solar United Neighbors. “We are excited to work with Vote Solar and industry partners large and small to help give these solar constituents a more powerful voice in the energy decisions that impact them.”
Together we can send a sunny message to show lawmakers the impact of their policy decisions — by having them hold thousands of photos of everyday people showing what solar means for their energy bills, their families and their communities.
Thank you for being part of such a mighty solar movement. Now let’s flex that power by sending thousands of I ❤️ MY ☀️ postcards — starting with your customers and you!
