Charles Wright

Charles Wright is a seasoned renewable energy executive with over a decade of experience leading the development of utility-scale wind, solar, and storage projects across the U.S., including in MISO, PJM, ERCOT, and WECC. Most recently serving as Vice President and Head of Development at UKA North America, he has overseen over 2 GW of clean energy projects and secured multimillion-dollar investments to advance the energy transition.
Beyond his professional achievements, Charles is deeply committed to equity and inclusion in the clean energy sector. As a longtime mentor with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Stoked Mentoring, and BUILD NYC, he has helped guide BIPOC youth toward STEM and renewable energy careers. He regularly volunteers in underserved schools and communities, leading workshops and panels, most recently with YWCA to broaden access and representation in the industry.
As a member of Vote Solar’s Access & Equity Advisory Committee, Charles brings both leadership experience and a personal dedication to uplifting underrepresented voices. His work centers on ensuring that all communities, especially frontline and BIPOC, share in the benefits of a just, inclusive clean energy future.
