Vote Solar in Support of Governor Shapiro’s Fight for Pennsylvanians
Governor Shapiro has filed a lawsuit demanding that the Trump Administration release more than 2 billion dollars that were congressionally allocated to support the people of Pennsylvania. This federal funding was designed to expand access to clean energy, protect public health, and lower utility bills for all communities across the state.
Vote Solar Mid-Atlantic Regional Director, Elowyn Corby, issued the following statement:
“By withholding billions of dollars in funding for Pennsylvania, President Trump isn’t just hurting families—he is killing local jobs, stalling investment in Pennsylvania’s clean energy industry, and undermining energy savings for millions.
“This funding freeze disproportionately harms communities of color, low-income households, and those living near polluting fossil fuel infrastructure—blocking access to the clean energy future they deserve. This money is a lifeline, designed to lower energy costs, create jobs, and cut pollution—Trump is now attempting to illegally bypass the courts, stripping these resources from communities that need them most.
“We are grateful that Governor Shapiro has drawn a clear line in the sand when it comes to protecting the people of the Commonwealth. We urge the members of Pennsylvania’s congressional delegation to similarly take action to protect the lives, health, and futures of the Pennsylvania people.”
