Kavi Chintam

Campaign Manager, IL

Kavi Chintam is the Campaign Manager for Illinois at Vote Solar. In this role, Kavi works to advance clean energy legislation and engages in coalitions to promote equitable and just measures. Kavi has a diverse array of experience in scientific research, policy analysis, on-the-ground organizing, community outreach, and grant writing in various sectors, including academia, national lab, local government, nonprofit, and labor. Prior to joining Vote Solar, she received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University where she studied electrochemical pathways to sustainability. During her time at Northwestern, Kavi co-founded and chaired the Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in her department and co-chaired the graduate workers’ union. Kavi completed a fellowship at the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine and was a post-bac at the Los Alamos National Laboratory studying fuel cell technologies. She received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Kavi is deeply involved in progressive causes in Chicago and the greater Midwest and loves volunteering in her neighborhood, running, reading, crafting, and always has a foster cat or two in her home.
