Katie Belgard

Deputy Program Director, Interior West

As Deputy Program Director for the Interior West, Katie coordinates campaigns for Vote Solar’s legislative and regulatory priorities throughout the region. Katie is a campaigner and organizer at heart, starting her career in the labor movement in Boston. This experience cemented her commitment to ensuring those most impacted by policy decisions have a seat at the decision making table. Prior to joining Vote Solar, Katie worked for Conservation Colorado as their Government Affairs Director, where she led the organizations legislative, and regulatory campaigns to protect Colorado’s climate, air, water, land and communities. Katie is most proud of her work supporting the coalitions who successfully passed Colorado’s Environmental Justice Act (HB21-1266) and legislation to monitor and curb the emissions of known carcinogens like benzene and ethylene oxide (HB22-1244).

Katie has a Masters in Public Administration from Clark University where she also completed her undergraduate degree in Government with a focus on Latin American Politics. She is from Deerfield, New Hampshire. She lives in Colorado.
