Arizona Legislators Threaten to Pull the Plug on Popular Clean Energy Goals

Tell your state legislators: Protect Arizona's clean energy rules!

Energy regulators at the Arizona Corporation Commission were prepared to pass a popular initiative in support of proposed 100% clean energy standards. But a new bill in the Arizona legislature would change the rules to prevent the new clean energy standards from moving forward.

This campaign for 100% clean energy rules has been years in the making, with thousands of petitions from Vote Solar members, expert testimony, negotiations and public engagement campaigns. But now, members of the Arizona Legislature are trying to change the rules to prevent the new clean energy standards from moving forward.

Arizonans: Tell your state legislators to vote NO on multiple bills that would undermine the ACC’s ability to set clean energy standards. These include HB 2248, SB 1175 and HB 2737.

These bills send the wrong message about Arizona: that it is not looking to the future, does not want to keep up with cost-saving clean energy technologies, and is not interested in helping to protect our environment.

In fact, the opposite is true. Our polling last year showed overwhelming support for clean energy jobs and savings, a just transition for coal communities and a 100% clean energy future. Arizonans know that clean energy creates jobs, cleans up our air and water, and protects public health.

Your voice matters and can make a real difference!

Arizonans: Send a personalized message to your state legislators to protect the ACC’s public process that allows for meaningful stakeholder engagement on climate and clean energy policy at the state.
