Greetings from Sunny Solar California!

Delivering petitions to the CPUC

Greetings from the Golden State, the first stop on our United States of Solar road trip through Vote Solar’s 2015 campaigns. California made history this year by passing SB 350, which will increase the amount of renewable resources powering the state to 50% and double the energy efficiency of existing buildings by 2030. Seriously, 50%! This is a bold move that raises the clean energy bar for our state, our country, and our world – and we were proud to help get it across the finish line.

YOU CAN HELP US KEEP RAISING THE BAR BY DONATING TODAY!

But, we’ve still got work left to do. By January the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will decide whether or not to make big changes to the state’s critical net metering program, and we’ve been working hard for well over a year to make sure they keep the way clear for Californians to go solar.

Just last month, Vote Solar, alongside social justice, faith, environmental, business, labor and health groups delivered more than 130,000 petitions in favor of protecting net metering and expanding solar access — by far the most public input the CPUC has ever heard on any issue, ever! It was awesome.

Thanks to our donors, supports and partners who have helped make California’s solar progress possible. Through the end of the year, we’ll be highlighting other solar wins from around the country … here’s our postcard from the Mountain West.
